 Birdwatching tourism is a niche segment of wildlife tourism within the broader ecotourism industry. Birdwatching tourism has experienced significant growth across the globe recently, driven by increasing environmental awareness and a desire for sustainable travel experiences. 

As birdwatching tourism becomes more popular world-wide, identifying new locations for bird tours in Greece, Türkiye and other Mediterranean countries can help national and regional tourist boards, travel agencies and tour companies significantly increase the number of off-peak visitors and see a rise in the amount spent per visitor. 

In particular, travel for bird watching in the United States is very popular and represents a promising growth sector.

Our BTSAs identify prime birdwatching areas for US and other foreign birdwatchers.

By incorporating the results of our BTSAs, we conduct detailed feasibility studies and develop local and regional bird tour development plans that are sustainable and resilient.

3) Eco Accreditation Services

DNLC will assist your tourism enterprise to identify and obtain the most useful (and marketable) eco accreditation and help you through the accreditation process. 

4) Nature Guide Training
We develop and offer training for local residents who would like to become proficient birdwatching  and wildlife guides.

5) Digital Products
We create digital products such as local birdwatching apps that help birders and bird tour guides find good birdwatching locations and identify  typical birds in their area.

A birdwatcher since age 12, David N Lee Consulting (DNLC) Principal Biologist David Lee earned a  Master of Science degree in Conservation Biology and has a background in ecotourism and world travel.

In graduate school (Duke University) he conducted an ecotourism assessment of Tortuguero National Park, Costa Rica and published the results in a peer-reviewed journal. 

David has worked as a field biologist in Alaska’s Glacier Bay National Park, Montana’s Glacier National Park and Peru’s Manu National Park. Additionally, he has traveled as an ecotourist in Greece, Spain, Egypt, Thailand, Indonesia, Mexico, and New Zealand.
